Sarakasi trust's aim is to provide a place for Kenyan artistes to not only improve their skills but improve their lives. The trust's now-famous cultural exchange programme continues to grow space, sending hundreds of Kenyan performers on tours and performances overseas, while the region's most comprehensive artistic training programme has elevated the talents of a record 800 dancers and acrobats, and delivered its unique blend of hope and wellbeing to dozens of children's homes and community centres in some of Nairobi's poorest neighbourhoods. The trust is especially proud of its efforts to help unemployed youths and children living on the streets to launch new dance and acrobatic troupes; in 2005, it helped many new groups get off the ground and find their first paid performance work in Nairobi and Mombasa. Please read further for more information on our acrobats, dancers and musicians.
