Hospital Project

In September 2006 Sarakasi Trust started a project aimed at taking entertainment to ailing children in hospital. This pilot project is at St Anne's children's ward in the Mater Hospital, Nairobi. Recognizing the healing power of Art, Mater Hospital introduced the concept to promote the well being and enhance healthcare in Kenya. This program is set to provide a pleasant hospital experience for the patient and holistic healing.

Sarakasi Trust Hospital project is a program aimed to reach children of different ages from new-born babies up to 14 years old. Our aim is to offer a positive outlook and meaningful stay for the hospitalized children to aid them in their healing process. The project also aims to interact with the parents/guardians who may also feel the pressure of caring for an ill child; we believe that these parents also require care. The sessions are currently running twice a week and we carry out different sorts of activities such as drawing, painting, moulding and singing. We would like to thank our sponsors Terre des Hommes for aiding us in the task of bringing a little sunshine into the lives of many Children.
